JAMB Registration 2020: How To Ensure Successful Registration


The general public is hereby informed that the Joint Administration And Matriculation Board(JAMB) registration for 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have commenced. In this article, we will be showing you what to do during the 2020 JAMB registration to avoid unwanted stories at the end.

The current registration is for candidates who wish to sit for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for admission in the 2020/2021 academic session. If you happen to fall into this category, please pay close attention to the guidelines we will be showing you in this article even before you start your JAMB registration.

When is the 2020 JAMB Registration Starting?

The JAMB portal for registration officially opened on Monday, 13th January 2020 and will close on February 17, 2020. A total of 5 weeks.

So, if you want to participate in the 2020 UTME to get admission in any Nigerian tertiary institution, you must ensure that you register within the specified period as stated above.

Where Can I do 2020 JAMB Registration?

The 2020 JAMB registration is only done at the approved JAMB CBT centres across Nigeria and the 8 foreign countries with JAMB approved CBT centres.

For your own safety, do not use any Cyber café or just computer centres except those ones published by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as the approved CBT centres for 2020 JAMB UTME exercise.

You are advised to strictly adhere to this instruction to avoid stories that touch as JAMB can only hold these centres responsible if anything goes wrong. Do not put your future at risk.

When Is 2020 JAMB Mock Examination | 2020 MOCK UTME Date

The optional 2020 UTME mock examination for candidates sitting for 2020 UTME is scheduled for February 18, 2020.

Note that this mock exam goes a long way to prepare you for the main 2020 UTME. We advise you to ensure that you take part in the JAMB mock CBT exam to sharpen yourself for the big one. But why not since you have nothing to lose.

When is the date for 2020 JAMB UTME Examination?

The 2020 JAMB CBT EXAMINATION is slated to start on 14th March 2020 and end on 4th April 2020.

Venue For JAMB 2020 UTME Examination

The venue for the 2020 JAMB UTNE Examination will hold at an approved CBT centre in candidate’s chosen examination town(city).

PLEASE NOTE: JAMB does not post any candidate to any examination town or group of towns other than one chosen by the candidate during the registration. However, candidates are advised to register on time before the available spaces in their examination towns get filled up and unavailable.

JAMB 2020 UTME Choice of Institution

On the 2020 registration platform, Candidates are to note that on the JAMB 2020 registration portal, their 1st choice can be a College of Education, University, Innovative Enterprise Institutes, Polytechnics/Monotechnics, NDA (Nigerian Defence Academy) or Nigeria Police Academy respectively.

2020 JAMB Registration: How To Ensure Successful Registration

Below, we have outlined a step by step guide to ensure that your registration process for JAMB 2020 UTME is hitch-free and successful. So, to complete 2020 JAMB registration successfully without stress, simply follow the steps below.

1. Get an email Address

You will have to create a valid and active email address if you do not have one already. You will be asked to provide a valid email address during your 2020 JAMB registration. It will be used by JAMB to communicate with you during the registration process and other subsequent activities on the JAMB portal when necessary. So before going to the JAMB registration portal, ensure that you have an active email address.

2. Create your Personal Profile On The JAMB Portal

The first thing you will be doing on the JAMB portal is to create your profile. Candidates cannot carry out the JAMB 2020 registration unless you create your profile on the JAMB portal first. You will also need a phone number to which your all-important profile code will be sent by JAMB.

You will use this your profile to access other services on the JAMB portal such as online result checking, admission status check, admission letter printing, accessing Jamb caps and much more.

3. JAMB Integrated Brochure & Syllabus System (IBASS) Checking

Next, you will need to check your eligibility for the program that you have chosen to study and the institution at IBASS before you can go ahead and do your JAMB 2020 registration. Once you confirm the availability of the course in your preferred institution of study, you can then proceed to the next step of your 2020/2021 JAMB registration.

4. Obtain The 2020 JAMB E-PIN

The 2020 JAMB E-PINS cost N3,500 and an additional N500 is paid to obtain the reading text “Sweet Sixteen” by Bolaji Abdullahi for UTME Candidates and “The Last Days at Forcados High School” by A. H. Mohammed for DE Candidates and $20 for Candidates from the eight foreign centres.

You e-PIN is what you will use to complete your JAMB online registration. Note that you will be asked to provide your profile code before you can get your JAMB registration e-PIN.

You can buy the 2020 JAMB E-PIN via any of the approved channels as listed below.

1. Any NIPOST branch nationwide
2. Jamb Accredited Banks in Nigeria namely ACCESS, FCMB, FIDELITY, FIRSTBANK, JAIZ, Polaris, Stanbic IBTC, STERLING, UNION and UNITY banks respectively.
3. Online via JAMB portal
4. ATM via Interswitch
Pay with your phone using the USSD code *565*6*55019#
5. Mobile Money Operators such as Paga, e-Transact, Pocket Moni, TEASYPay etc.
6. POS
7. Nigerian Embassies in Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Beau, Cotonou, Jeddah, Johannesburg, and London
8. Online payment platforms such as Remita etc.

5. Visit any JAMB Accredited CBT Centre close to you to complete your 2020 JAMB Registration

As you may have already known from our introductory session, registration for 2020 JAMB UTME can only be done at JAMB accredited and approved CBT centres.

The main JAMB registration takes place at these CBT centres. You are to pay not more than N700 as Service Charge to the CBT Centre. During the UTME registration process proper, you will provide the following:

1. Biodata: Date of Birth, Nationality, State of Origin, Local Government, Gender, e-mail address, among others

2. Choice of institutions and programmes (course of study)

3. Qualifications with grades and dates. This is where you will add your O’level or A’level result. You can use two sittings or simply put awaiting result if it applies to you.

4. Upload necessary Certificates applicable to no. 3 above if not awaiting result. All candidates who are awaiting results should endeavour to supply the results online JAMB portal as soon as it is available as JAMB will not consider any recommendations from institutions if the candidate has not supplied his/her result on the JAMB portal.

5. The JAMB registration number for previous institutional certificates for direct entry (DE) only.

6. UTME subjects and choice of examination town(s) for both the 2020 Mock UTME examination (optional) and main 2020 UTME.

7. Do picture capture (no scanning of passport photograph)

8. Ten fingers biometric enrolment.

9. You will have to go through all your entries to confirm that they are correctly filled.

10. Collect Your Jamb E-Slip or registration slip and the reading text and CD. The E-SLIP is the evidence of JAMB registration.
